Tommy Bruce RIP.
I first met Tommy way back in 1960 when we were in a show together called ‘We’re No Squares’ at the Colston Hall, Bristol. The show was produced by my then manager Robert Stigwood (his first production!!!) and Tommy was the star guest.

The show was compered by Michael Medwin who was starring at the time in one of the most popular TV series of the day ‘The Army Game’. I had just finished a TV series of my own for Granada called Biggles’ and Tommy was riding high in the charts with ‘Ain’t Misbehavin’

I remember feeling very nervous as I was an actor and this was the first time I had sung on stage but Tommy gave me a lot of encouragement and a lot of laughs and it was with his help that I got through the ordeal!

Tommy and I go back a long way. It was always a pleasure to see him and work with him and we always had a lot of laughs. I will always remember Tommy as a very special showbiz friend.

My thoughts go out to Tommy’s family and Dave and Margaret Lodge at this very sad time.

Always yours.
